Youth Crime Prevention Program
Youth Crime Prevention Program is funded by Department of Communites. The program involves young people being connected to their communities through sports, community and cultural events .
This program provides funding to the Council to employ two Youth Workers - Ardy MucKan and David Turner.
Ardy MucKan runs Touch Football training sessions, has a softball team in the local competition, as well as running the very successful 'Wanna Be Dead' program, which has spread across the Wide Bay.
Dave Turner has a focus on music and in particular YITCHI ( Youth In The Community having Input) band nights, music workshops and sports. YITCHI turns 10 this year!
